Hey runs email through a security sandbox that whitelist-filters CSS properties. This means your signature doesn't fail everywhere—it fails specifically in Hey, while looking perfect in your Gmail draft. The culprit is Hey's aggressive content policy. It strips any CSS property it doesn't explicitly allow. Border-radius disappears. Box-shadow vanishes. Text-decoration gets removed. Even margin-bottom sometimes fails because Hey prioritizes security over rendering flexibility. Table borders render, but only if you use the border HTML attribute directly—not the CSS border property. Width and height attributes work; max-width doesn't. Your signature needs to use Hey's approved property list: color, font-family, font-size, font-weight, font-style, text-align, padding, margin (sometimes), and line-height. External font imports never load because Hey blocks all @import statements and link tags in signature content. Background images linked from CDNs won't display—Hey sees them as potential tracking pixels and blocks them preemptively. The solution isn't fighting Hey's rules. It's designing signatures that work within them. Tables with inline styles, base64 images, and system fonts create signatures that display identically in Hey, Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail without compromise.

This is actually helpful—it forces you to test your signature against Hey's actual rendering engine before it reaches your recipients. Your SignatureFox HTML file contains table-based code that survives Hey's filtering. When you install it, Hey re-parses your HTML and outputs what it can support. No watermarks, no external dependencies, no broken images. The HTML file you receive is already optimized for Hey's constraints. You simply copy the code, paste it into Hey's signature editor, and let the system handle the rest.
