Yahoo Mail's email renderer treats HTML differently than Gmail or Outlook. The platform enforces strict security policies that block external image sources. Any image URL pointing to your server—logos, headshots, icons—won't load in Yahoo Mail. Instead, the image tag shows a broken placeholder. This is Yahoo Mail's way of preventing tracking pixels and malicious content. The workaround is base64 encoding, which converts images into long text strings embedded directly in the HTML. Your image data travels inside the email itself, not as a reference to an external file. Yahoo Mail also strips out CSS class selectors and external stylesheets entirely. You cannot use `.signature-title { color: blue; }` in a separate style block. This limitation actually makes signatures more reliable—you avoid cascade conflicts—but it requires a different design approach. Yahoo Mail also ignores CSS properties like `float`, `display: flex`, `position: absolute`, and media queries. Tables become your layout engine instead of CSS Grid. Padding and margins work inside table cells, so multi-column designs still look sharp. Font rendering is another quirk. Custom Google Fonts and @font-face declarations don't load in Yahoo Mail. You'll open Yahoo Mail in a browser, navigate to Settings, then Signatures. Yahoo Mail calls this feature "Signature" (singular) even though you can create multiple signatures per account. Create a new signature or edit the default one. In the signature text box, delete any placeholder text. Then copy the entire HTML code from your SignatureFox file and paste it. Yahoo Mail will show the raw code momentarily, but when you save and send an email, the HTML renders properly. Your recipient sees a formatted signature with your name, title, contact info, and embedded logo. If you're using the mobile Yahoo Mail app, you won't see a signature editor there. Always set up signatures through the browser version at mail.yahoo.com. Yahoo Mail mobile automatically appends whatever signature you configured in the web version. One important note: Yahoo Mail's signature editor has a character limit of around 10,000 characters.
