How to Add an Email Signature on iPhone

Your email signature is often the first impression a recipient has of your professionalism. On iPhone, setting up a signature is straightforward, but most people don't realize the built-in option has limitations. If you send emails from your phone regularly, you'll want to know both the basic method and the best workarounds.

Start by opening the Settings app on your iPhone and scroll down to find Mail. Tap Mail, then scroll down further and look for the Signature option. You'll see a text field where you can type your name, title, phone number, or any other details you want included.

Once you've entered your signature text, it will automatically appear at the bottom of every new email you compose in the Mail app. You can create different signatures for different email accounts if you manage multiple addresses—just make sure you select the correct account before customizing its signature.

Keep in mind that the native Mail signature only supports plain text and basic formatting. If you want your signature to include colors, fonts, logos, or images with proper alignment, you'll run into limitations. The signature also won't transfer to third-party email apps like Gmail or Outlook if you use those on your phone.

A plain text signature gets the job done, but a formatted HTML signature makes you look more professional. HTML signatures let you include your company logo, headshot, social media icons, and styled text—all without breaking in different email clients.

The catch: you can't create a true HTML signature directly on your iPhone using the native Mail app. This is where SignatureFox helps.
